ACNS Guidance on qEEG and Mild TBI

Practice Guideline: Use of Quantitative EEG for the Diagnosis of Mild Traumatic Brain Injury: Report of the Guideline Committee of the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society

The 2021 guideline found insufficient evidence supporting qEEG for diagnosing mild traumatic brain injury and described that specific application as investigational.

Considerations and limitations

This conclusion concerns qEEG for mTBI diagnosis; it should not be generalized to every clinical use of EEG.
